Questions, answered plainly.
How PoExplorer treats game editions, source data, markets, accounts, and corrections.
Reading the field guide
What is PoExplorer?
PoExplorer is an independent field guide for understanding items, modifiers, crafting decisions, builds, and market context across both Path of Exile games. It combines technical records with original plain-language explanations.
Does it support Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2?
Yes. The two editions have separate indexes, guides, market references, and visual labels. A familiar name does not mean an item works identically in both games, so PoExplorer does not merge their rules.
What can I do without an account?
All public guides, records, modifiers, crafting tools, comparisons, builds, and market references are free. An account is only needed to save items, searches, plans, alerts, and private organization.
Why does an imported item sometimes say that a guide is pending?
A source record proves that data was exported; it does not automatically prove current availability or justify a useful page. PoExplorer publishes a guide only after reviewing its identity and adding original explanatory value.
Sources, updates, and limitations
Where does the data come from?
PoExplorer uses documented Grinding Gear Games services, versioned community game-data extraction maintained by RePoE, and original editorial review. The data sources page explains the details.
Does the catalog update automatically?
Catalog and modifier imports run on a schedule with safeguards against incomplete data. Market references retain their source time. Automated imports never automatically publish editorial guides.
Are market values guaranteed trade prices?
No. Market pages are time-stamped, league-specific observations—not promises. Liquidity, exact item properties, timing, and demand can make a real trade different.
How do I report incorrect information?
Use the private contact form, choose “Data correction,” and include the page address plus supporting evidence.
Your private field kit
What does a free account store?
Your Field Kit can store saved items, searches, crafting plans, market alerts, build saves, private notes, and email preferences. Public knowledge remains available without registration.
Are member dashboards indexed?
No. Member and administration areas are private and excluded from search indexing.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. The Field Kit includes permanent deletion for the account and its private saved data. See the privacy page for details.
Independence and participation
Is PoExplorer affiliated with Grinding Gear Games?
No. PoExplorer is independent and unofficial. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Grinding Gear Games.
Can members submit builds?
Yes. Registered members can submit builds for moderation. Community submissions are labeled separately and never publish automatically.
How can I contact PoExplorer privately?
Use the contact form. It stores the message in PoExplorer's protected administration area and does not publish your details.
