Carapace Catalyst applies quality to a ring or amulet so qualifying Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifiers receive the benefit. It replaces other jewellery quality and does not create a new Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifier.
Count the useful Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifiers first.
Inspect the target's qualifying Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifiers and current quality. Apply this Catalyst only when improving those modifiers is worth replacing the existing quality family.
Other quality types are replaced. Jewellery without strong qualifying Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifiers gains little from the application.
Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield-focused jewellery creates targeted demand.
Exchange value reflects players optimising rings and amulets with Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield modifiers. The same Catalyst can be useful on one item and ineffective on another.
