Chromatic Orb
Understand how a Path of Exile 2 Chromatic Orb changes the colour of a socket on a Skill Gem and why this is not the PoE1 equipment-colour system.
What happens if you use it?
The colour of a socket on a Skill Gem changes.
The Skill Gem and its support-socket capacity remain.
A planned Support Gem needs a different socket colour.
Colour does not add capacity, and PoE1 equipment-socket advice does not apply.

Change one Skill Gem support-socket colour.
The Path of Exile 2 Chromatic Orb changes the colour of a socket on a Skill Gem. It targets the Skill Gem's support setup rather than reforging all socket colours on an equipment item.
Choose the support first, then solve its colour requirement.
Identify the Skill Gem, the Support Gem you intend to attach, and the socket whose colour blocks that plan. The imported record begins at drop level 5 and stacks to 20. Capacity and colour are separate: Jeweller currencies handle the number of support sockets.
Changing a colour does not add another support socket or choose the Support Gem for you. Do not follow PoE1 guidance about equipment attributes, full socket-colour rerolls, or linked equipment sockets.
Price the specific support change, not a PoE1 recolour strategy.
Demand follows players adjusting Skill Gem support setups, while the exchange ratio moves with league supply. Use the current observation to price attempts without importing assumptions from PoE1 equipment crafting.
