Expand a magic item without replacing its current modifier.
The Path of Exile 2 Orb of Augmentation adds one new random modifier to a magic item. The modifier already on the item remains, and the source directions state that magic items can carry up to two random modifiers.
Use it to complete a promising one-modifier magic item.
The orb makes sense when the current modifier is valuable enough to preserve and the item still has room for a second. It advances an incremental crafting path, but the second modifier cannot be selected or previewed.
The added property may not support the item or build, and the orb cannot improve a full magic item. Do not mistake preserving one good modifier for guaranteeing a useful final pair.
Common crafting demand still needs a current clock.
Because the orb participates in ordinary magic-item progression, player demand can be broad while its exchange ratio continues to move with league supply. Keep the live observation separate from the stable two-modifier rule.
