Point jewellery quality at Minion modifiers.
Necrotic Catalyst applies quality to a ring or amulet so that qualifying Minion modifiers receive the benefit. Applying it replaces other jewellery quality types; it does not create a new Minion modifier.
Count the useful Minion modifiers first.
Inspect the target's qualifying Minion modifiers and its existing quality. Use this Catalyst only when improving those modifiers is worth replacing the current quality family.
Other quality types are replaced. Jewellery without strong qualifying Minion modifiers gains little from this application.
Minion-focused jewellery creates targeted demand.
The exchange value reflects players optimising rings and amulets with Minion modifiers. The same Catalyst can be valuable on one item and ineffective on another.
