Artificer's Orb
Understand how an Artificer's Orb adds an Augment Socket to eligible Path of Exile 2 equipment and what it does not provide.
What happens if you use it?
An eligible equipment item gains an Augment Socket.
Its base identity and existing modifiers remain.
The equipment is worth keeping and a useful augment is planned.
The socket can be wasted on temporary gear or without a suitable augment.

Add an Augment Socket to eligible equipment.
An Artificer's Orb adds an Augment Socket to eligible Path of Exile 2 equipment: Martial Weapons, wands, staves, or armour. It changes equipment socket capacity, not Skill Gem support capacity.
Choose the equipment and augment together.
Start with an item you expect to keep and identify the augment you intend to socket. The orb creates the socket opportunity; the value comes from the augment and equipment plan that use it.
It cannot be applied to every item class and does not provide the augment itself. Do not confuse equipment Augment Sockets with Support Gem sockets or PoE1 socket currencies.
Permanent gear plans create the strongest demand.
Its useful value rises when players have equipment worth augmenting and appropriate socketable additions ready. A current market ratio cannot tell whether your particular item deserves the investment.
