Replace one random rare modifier with another.
A Greater Chaos Orb removes a random modifier from a rare item and augments it with a new random modifier. Unlike a full rare-item reroll, the operation changes one random slot while leaving the other surviving modifiers in place.
Count the good and bad removable modifiers first.
Evaluate how many existing modifiers you can afford to lose and whether the item has room for an appropriate replacement. The outcome combines two uncertainties: which modifier is removed and which one is added.
The removal is random and can hit the item's best modifier. The added modifier is also random, so the same use can make an item worse in two different ways.
Selective replacement carries premium risk.
Its exchange activity reflects demand for higher-tier rare-item crafting. Market value cannot measure the odds that the removed modifier is expendable or that the new modifier improves the item.
