Greater Jeweller's Orb
Understand how a Greater Jeweller's Orb sets a Path of Exile 2 Skill Gem to four Support Gem sockets and why the fourth support should be planned first.
What happens if you use it?
A Skill Gem is set to four Support Gem sockets.
The underlying skill and its existing support plan remain.
The gem has fewer than four sockets and a valuable fourth support is ready.
The fourth slot can add cost without adding a useful support or correct colour.

Set a Skill Gem to four support sockets.
A Greater Jeweller's Orb sets a Skill Gem to have four Support Gem sockets. It applies only when the gem currently has fewer than four, creating a defined capacity milestone rather than rolling an uncertain socket count.
Name the fourth support and its colour before spending.
The imported record begins at drop level 45 and stacks to 20. Evaluate whether a fourth Support Gem meaningfully improves the skill and whether its socket colour can be accommodated. More capacity is useful only when the additional support belongs in the setup.
The orb does nothing for a Skill Gem already at four or more support sockets. It sets capacity but does not provide the Support Gem, solve its colour, or guarantee that the additional support improves the build.
A later capacity tier carries its own current cost.
Supply and build demand move the exchange ratio for this specific tier. Do not price it as a generic Jeweller's Orb or assume that every Skill Gem receives equal value from a fourth support.
